Bharatheeyam 2014

Bharatheeyam 2014, the 10 days Musical dance festival has inaugurated by Dr.Padma Bhushan Mallika Sarabhai on December 19 2014 at  Ernakulam Marine Drive Ground.

Ministers AP Anil Kumar, K. Babu, M.L.A Benny Behanan, M.L.A Dominic Presentation, MLA Jose Thettayil, Tourism Director Sheik Pareeth, GCDA Chairman N.Venugopal, Actors Jayaram and Jayasurya with his wife Sarita Jayasurya attended inaugural event with dignitaries from Cultural and political field. 

The inaugural day also witnessed Sopanasangeetham by Ambalapuzha Vijaykumar & Panchari Melam lead by Actor Jayaram in the evening, which nearly 60 artists performed.

The Event will held at Ernakulam Marine Drive on specially prepared 2400 sq.ft stage which can accommodate nearly 4000 audience. Alongside the art fest organisers also arranged Exhibitions and Food Court. Amusement theme park by FunWorld is special attraction for the event.

The entry pass costs Rs.50/- and free pass for children upto 10 years.

• 7:30 PM : Dance programme titled “India Then Now Forever” by Dr.Padma Bhushan Mallika Sarabhai and team.

December 21

• 6:30 PM Music Program titled “Singer’s Eve” performed by Usha Uthup.

December 22

• 6:30 PM Thiruvathira, Margamkali, Oppana performed by Students of St.Therese College, Ernakulam.
• 7:30 PM Odissi Dance Performance by Guru Manoranjan and 11 artists.

December 23

• 7:30 PM : Kathak dance performance by Dr.Madhu Nataraj Kiran
• After That : Mohiniattam by Neena Prasad.
• Chief Guest of the Event : K.P.S.C. Lalitha

December 24

• 7:30 PM : Ghazal and Jugalbandi performed by  Pandit Ramesh Narayan
• Chief Guest of Event : K.C.Joseph, Minister for Rural Development, Planning & Culture.

December 25

• 7:30 DJ Programme by Sash.
• Chief Guest of Event : Manjalamkuzhi Ali, Minister for Urban Affairs and Welfare of Minorities.

December 26

• 7:30 Manipuri Dance performance by Preethy Patel and Team.
• After That : Assam Classical Dance by Krishnakshi Kashyap & Guru Ramkrishna Talukdar.

December 27

• 7:30 “Kashmiri Eve” Folk Dance with Live music by Kashmiri Artists.
• Chief Guests for the Event : Rima Kallingal, Aashiq Abu, P.Rajeev M.L.A

December 28

• Valedictory Function
• After that : Bangra Dance & Punjabi Dance along with an all-women dance form performance.
• Chief Guests : Vice Admiral Surinder Pal Singh Cheema, Actor Janardhanan, M.A.Baby M.L.A.

Bharatheeyam, the 10 days Musical Dance Fest will conclude on 28th December. The Event is jointly organised by Greater Cochin Development Authority & Kerala State Tourism Department to attract tourist and people who love Arts.
