Cucumbers contain two phytonutrient compounds, they are namely  lignans and cucurbitacins. In recent years, pharmaceutical companies have been paying special attention to cucurbitacins, hoping to use them in new cancer drugs. Cucumber contain lariciresinol, pinoresinol, and secoisolariciresinol. These three lignans have a strong history of research in connection with reduced risk of several cancer types, including breast cancer, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer and prostate cancer.

Skin and Hair care:

Cucumber contains skin friendly minerals such as magnesium, potassium, silicon.  It can be used for skin irritations and sunburns . Silicon and sulfur in cucumbers help to stimulate hair growth.

Maintain a healthy weight:

Cucumbers are very low in calories. The soluble fiber in cucumbers dissolves into a gel-like texture in your gut, helping to slow down your digestion. This helps you to feel full. And also cucumber stabilizes blood pressure.

Cucumbers contain an anti-inflammatory flavonol called fisetin. Fisetin  plays an important role in brain health. In addition to improving your memory and protecting your nerve cells from age-related decline, fisetin has been found to prevent progressive memory.
