The thick, creamy Mayonnaise is nutritious and it goes well with bread, bagels,potatoes, sandwiches and so on. Here’s the recipe to prepare mayonnaise; not the kind you can pick up from the grocery stores. Make Mayonnaise at home.


Egg – 1

Vegetable or olive oil – Three-fourth cup

Vinegar- 2 Tablespoon

mustard powder/ oil – 1/2 teaspoon

Sugar-  1/2 teaspooneggs

Black pepper powder- 1/4 teaspoon

Salt- to taste

How to Make?

Mix an egg, vinegar, sugar, salt, mustard powder, powdered black pepper in a large bowl. Stir these ingredients together till the mix becomes pretty thick.

Add 1 Tablespoon of oil and continue stirring till it thickens further. Add another spoon of oil and keep repeating the same process till you finish 1 cup oil. Mayonnaise is made of mostly oil, so it’s important to choose the right one. Extra virgin olive oil is widely recommended by chefs, but you can also try canola or sunflower oil.

Yo may add some flavoring at the end to make it more rich: add crushed garlic, fresh herbs, lemon etc.
