Happy News to Kochi in this New Year.

Kochi to go Wi-Fi Soon, Kochi corporation in association with BSNL, the public sector telecom company, will offer the Wi-Fi facility at hot spot in city.

The First phase planned with Fort Kochi, Mattancherry, Marine Drive, High Court, Subhash Park, Kochi Corporation Office, Vyttila Mobility Hub, Edappally Junction and Kaloor on April 2015.

The facility is available free for first 15 minutes a day for one month. The free offer will be extended up on the traffic and demand of customers.

You can create an user ID and password using a valid mobile phone number and use any of the 10 access points created.

On Wi-Fi we can save 30% device battery backup and internet charge will an added advantage for smartphone users who use internet on the go.

According to BSNL Officials, Wi-Fi will be available  300m radius from the access point and that will range up to 10Mbps bandwidth. After the free limit customers can top up the service by coupons or online.

Wifi Zones will be operational from March by Test basics and will be open to public from April.

Mayor. Tony Chammany Claim that Kochi will be soon the first city to provide wide Wi-Fi Facility in India. BSNL Principal General G.Muralidharan, Deputy Mayor B.Bhadra and other senior official of Kochi Corporation were presented at press conference on 5th January.
