Onam Special Sharkara Upperi
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
- Raw banana - 4
- oil
- Jaggery- 1 cup
- Cumin powder- 1/4 tspn
- Ginger powder- 1/4 tspn
Instructions:
Peel the outer skin of banana. Cut each banana length wise into 4 pieces and slice each piece horizontally into small pieces. Heat oil and deep fry this sliced bananas then transfer to a bowl. In a pan heat jaggery and water till jaggery melts. Stir on low flame to get a thick syrup. Remove from heat. Add the ginger powder, fried banana slices and crushed cumin seeds to this and stir constantly. Transfer to a tray and let this cool for sometime.
