Semiya Payasam

Semiya Payasam
It is very popular in Kerala and Tamilnadu.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:
  • ¾ cup of semiya
  • ½ cup of sugar
  • ⅛ tsp. green cardamom powder
  • 500 ml milk
  • 200 ml water
  • 2 tsp. ghee
  • cashew nuts and raisins as needed
Instructions:
Heat gee in a heavy bottom pot. then add Add cashews and fry till golden colour ,add raisins and sauté then set these aside. Add semeya to the same pan and roast till slightly golden on a low flame. Next add milk and water to the pot. Let the milk boil on a low to medium flame. Add sugar and cardamom powder. Cook for 4 to 6 mins on a low flame for the semiya payasam to become thicken. Now we can add fried nuts and raisins.
