Vishu is an important festival of  Keralite’s, The most big agriculture festival celebrated on 1st day of Medam. Vishu katta is the traditional vishu breakfast , Its can cook easily & very quickly. Vishu katta is the combination of rice and coconut milk it serve with the banana leaf, The taste & look make’s vishu katta is more traditional.

Yield: 6

  • Unakkalari Rice - 1 Cup
  • Jeera -1/2 Tea Spoon
  • Coconut Milk - 1 Cup
  • Ghee -1 Tea spon
  • Elakka -2 Nos
  • Water - 1 Cup
  • Salt - As required
  • Vellam -1/4 Cup
Cook rice for 20 mins, Add second cocunut milk with salt and heated for when it become soft, Add first coconut milk, jeera, elakka to the pan & heated with less flame for mixing. Heated pan with 1 Tea spoon ghee and it added in to the mixed items, Off the flame and it changed to banana leaf for cooling, After cooling it cut the vishu katta into pieces.It can serve with the vellam liquid.
