Foods that lower cholesterol

Oats:

A bowl of oatmeal can improve your cholesterol . It gives you 1 to 2 grams of soluble fiber. Oats contain compounds called beta glucans, which give them their paste-like consistency. The beta  glucans form a thick gel inside the digestive tract  and bind to cholesterol in the gut. This helps to prevent cholesterol.

Nuts:

Nuts, including almonds, walnuts, pecans and peanuts, are good for lowering cholesterol. These nuts reduce blood pressure and salted varieties. Nuts contain plant sterols as well as monounsaturated fats that protect blood vessels from damage. Nuts also contains large amount of fibre and Vitamin E.

Mixed Nuts

Healthy Oils:

Healthy oils includes olive oil and rapeseed oil. These oils  contain mainly monounsaturated fats, neither increase nor decrease cholesterol levels. And they help to make the  artery walls stronger. These healthy oils reduce cholesterol.

Garlic:

Garlic has been found to lower cholesterol, prevent blood clots, reduce blood pressure, and protect against infections. Now research has found that it helps stop artery-clogging plaque at its earliest stage . Garlic keeps individual cholesterol particles from sticking to artery walls.
